Job Description:

Provides comprehensive pharmaceutical care to oncology patients to assure safe and effective drug therapy.

Responsibilities:

• Review all medication orders and accuracy based upon patient’s diagnosis, drug regimen, lab results, VS’s and toxicities.
• Perform dispense function of medications and generate labels in the EMR.
• Compound using aseptic technique, chemotherapeutic agents, and adjuvant medications.
• Oversee functions of Pharmacy Technician.
• Maintain proper inventory levels of medications and supplies necessary for the treatment of patients.
• Provide drug information as requested by physicians, nurses and patients and their family members

Dispense oral medications including oral chemotherapeutic agents and other medications associated with patient’s treatment through the HOAB physician dispensing pharmacy using QS-1 software.

* Oncology experience preferred but not required.
